YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In conjunction with USA Hockey and the International Ice Hockey Federation, the Youngstown Phantoms are proud to announce the first ever Youngstown Girls’ Hockey Day taking place this Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Covelli Centre. Women of all ages are invited to try out hockey as a new sport on the Covelli Centre ice ahead of the Phantoms’ game vs. the Dubuque Fighting Saints Saturday night.
The Covelli Centre doors will open up early for Youngstown Girls’ Hockey Day with registration and fitting starting at 2:30 p.m. EST. The Ice Zone in Boardman will be providing skates for all attendees while USA Hockey will be providing all the equipment, including helmets and sticks. The learn-to-play clinic will take place from 3:30 – 5 p.m and be ran by Brian Stillings, the ADM coordinator for Phantom Fireworks Youth Hockey Program, with help from Yvette Anderson of USA Hockey. The clinic will focus on teaching the basic hockey fundamentals of skating and stick-handling as well the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. An exclusive dinner and reception will be held following the clinic and the doors will re-open for the game at 6:15 p.m.
Youngstown Girls’ Hockey Day packages are just $18 and include admission to the learn-to-play clinic, the post-skate reception and a purple level ticket to the game. Additional tickets to the game can be purchased at the group rate of just $6. This is a great event for mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces or friends looking for a full day of fun!
